  • Call for late-breaking abstracts:

It's still possible to accommodate a few more contributions in the following three sessions:

    • H1. Spatially-resolved Characterization of Thin Films and Engineered Surfaces
    • H2. Advanced Mechanical Testing of Surfaces, Thin Films, and Coatings
    • H3. Characterization of Coatings in Harsh Environments

Please submit your abstract until February 21, 2018  at: http://www2.avs.org/conferences/ICMCTF/2018/index.htm

The full description of the symposium is available at: http://www2.avs.org/conferences/ICMCTF/2018/symposium_h.htm

  • Nanobrücken 2018: Nanomechanical Testing Conference & Bruker Hysitron User Meeting, will take place on February 20th – 22nd, 2018 at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen, Germany. The event covers all aspects of nanomechanical and nanotribological testing. Topics include in-situ experimentation, theory/simulation and biomechanical testing. Nightly social events and a conference dinner provide a valuable forum for networking.

    Abstracts deadline : January 12th, 2018

  • At the Department Materials Physics of the Montanuniversität Leoben (MUL), Daniel Kiener focusses on the understanding of deformation and failure processes on a nanometer length scale. Aim of his work is a knowledge driven design of novel high strength and extremely fracture resistant materials. This effort is now also recognized by the European Research Council (ERC), which supports the excellent fundamental research of Dr. Kiener via a Consolidator Grant over the next five years by two million Euros, awarded to the project TOUGHIT* (Tough Interface Tailored Nanostructured Metals)
