• Post-Doctoral Position Available at ISTerre, Grenoble

    PostDoc position at ISTerre

    We currently have a postdoc position available at the geochemistry group of ISTerre (CNRS-Univ.Grenoble-Alpes). The candidate will study the interaction forces between crystalline particles, and how this influences the mechanical properties of loadbearing materials.

    Applicants must hold a PhD in Physics, Material science, Chemistry, or a related field, and have extensive experience in force spectroscopy both in air and liquids. Knowledge about crystallization/crystallography is desired but not a must.
    The initial appointment is for one year, and comprises a competitive salary (based on previous work experience) and a multidisciplinary work environment.

  • Post-Doctoral Position in Toulouse - Electron Microscopy, Dislocation mechanisms, Ni based single-crystals

    A post-doctoral position is available at CIRIMAT – Toulouse, France.

    This position is in the framework of the European (M-ERA.NET) project: MICROPORES – HIP, Modeling of annihilation of micropores in single-crystal nickel-base superalloys during hot isostatic pressing.

    Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Materials Science or in Physics, good skills in electron microscopy with strong practise in one at least the tools to be used (TEM, SEM or FIB) and some knowledge in dislocations theory and mechanical properties of metals and alloys.

  • One year post-doctoral position at EPFL (diffusion barrier - multilayers)
